Four numbers that tell you if your internal comms work
Forget engagement scores. These four measures tell you whether messages are landing this week.
Internal communication gets measured once a year in a survey nobody enjoys. By the time the results arrive the problem has moved on.
Four simple numbers, checked weekly, will tell you far more.
1. Confirmed reads on your last announcement
Not opens — confirmations. If under two-thirds of the team have tapped 'Got it' within a day, the message was too long, went out at the wrong time, or wasn't relevant to most of them.
2. How many people posted anything at all
A team where only managers post doesn't have communication, it has a noticeboard. Watch the number of distinct people who wrote something this week.
3. Repeat questions
Every question asked twice is a missing guide. Track which knowledge base articles people mark as unhelpful — that's your writing to-do list, ranked.
4. Response time on the shared inbox
For anything customer-facing, speed of first reply is the number that shows up in reviews. Check it weekly and it tends to fix itself.
Zenivo puts all of this in one app
